Howto: Work on search results

Chose the action "Work on search results..." to view PMF or MIS results.
The displayed lists shows all database hits (peptide hits). Click on the table headers to sort the lists, a second click will reverse sorting, the next click will take back the sorting. You may select more than one table header to sort by more than criteria. On the upper right side of the displayed table various filter options are provided. First select a hit the filtering should be applied on, than select the filter option.
Additional information is displayed when a hit was selected. If approbiate accession numbers are found, links to uniprot or ncbi will be available.
If search results were obtained by a Mascot search, links to these search results will be shown.
Select this option to calculate the false discovery rate. Please note, that search had to be performed with an approbiate target/decoy database to use this option.
You have to annotate a hit with a level of certainty before it is included in further analysis. Therefore either manually select one or more hits (using the "Ctrl"-key), click on "Annotate hit(s)", ...
... and chose a level of certainty.
The annotations label will be updated in the table. Select the label "none" to revoke an annotation.
Though manual annotation of search results is - in many cases - impractical, not to say impossible, ProSE provides tools for the automatic annotation of hits.
Influence the automatical annotation with various filter options, e.g. specify a certain "fdr"-threshold, or omit single-charged peptides.
Here the result of the automatical annotation pipeline is depicted. Filter options was set to show only hits for the same scan.
